LRT Supertrain Design

In the summer of 2023, my colleague and local Salvadorian artist Michelle Campos Castillo and I were commissioned by Society of Northern Alberta Print artists ( SNAP ) in partnership with the Edmonton Arts Council and Pattison Outdoor Advertising to create various designs for an Edmonton Transit Supertrain car. The theme we chose was “memories from El Salvador”. We wanted to illustrate our memories as well as plants, animals and vegetation from our homeland. Michelle designed one half of the car and I the other. In my design I also wanted to honour the pet birds in my life especially a very special parrot that my late father loved so much. Michelle and I were also interviewed by CBC EDMONTON.
